Welcome to Spotlight Dance Cup! Not only will you find our events professional and organized but additionally you'll experience a positive environment in which dancers can feel comfortable and confident showcasing their talents.
Participation in Spotlight Dance Cup builds self-esteem, develops character, cultivates friendships, and at the same time improves dance and performance skills. We strive to make our competitions entertaining and enjoyable for dancers, teachers, parents and audiences alike. We are convinced our competitions recognize and reward each and every dancer, while inspiring them to strive for excellence. Spotlight Events is dedicated to conducting dynamic, prestigious, and fair events, while promoting the performing arts.
Each and every Spotlight competition is staged as a professional theatrical production. Our events are family-oriented and student-focused. Teachers, students and parents alike find Spotlight Dance Cup to be organized, yet fun. We strive to run our competitions on time, every time, in a warm, friendly, low-stress, personalized, and caring atmosphere. We recruit talented and professional judges who offer impartial and constructive oral and  video critiques of each performance that are inspiring to dancers of all ages and ability levels. Online registration and Director/Teacher rebates make the registration process for Spotlight Dance Cup easy and affordable.
Spotlight Events, Inc., producer of Spotlight Dance Cup, was founded in 1995 to provide a well-organized, prestigious, and dynamic event that will inspire students and teachers to strive for excellence in mid-size communities. Our competitions were so well-received in the communities we served that we expanded to numerous cities throughout the West and Midwest. Our first touring season, 1996, included 12 Regional events and One National Championship Final with fewer than 2000 individual competitors combined. In 2007, we toured 31 Regional cities and held two National Championship Finals, representing over 20,000 individual dancers and over 60,000 performances. Our 2010 season will include approximately 32 Regional cities and three National Championship Finals.
Spotlight Dance Cup, a proud member of the Federation of Dance Competitions, continues to lead the industry through technological and theatrical innovations. Spotlight not only is the FIRST competition to implement real-time, computerized scoring, but also leads the industry with our state-of-the-art approach to theatrical staging, sound, and lighting. These factors, combined with our dedicated and caring staff, play a huge role in creating a high quality, organized, and memorable production.
Our adjudicated award system, utilizing the gemstones Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, & Sapphire, is the only one of its kind in the dance competition world. Each performance has the potential to earn the highest award possible, which enables the competitors to continually strive for excellence. In addition, our unique categories like the Dance Down, Interpretive, Spotlight Title, and Studio Achievement make Spotlight Dance Cup fun and exciting. Competitors at Spotlight Dance Cup always walk away with so much more than just a trophy!
Our National Championship Finals are a spectacular, one-of-a-kind event. In addition to providing an extraordinary competition, we always include a number of exciting extracurricular activities for our participants and their families such as banquets, theme parties, discount show tickets, master classes, special performances, and video showcases. This year our National Championship Finals will be held in Las Vegas, NV, Seaside, OR and Branson, MO. Any of these cities will provide limitless entertainment opportunities for the entire family, are centrally located, and possess affordable travel costs & accommodations.
